ONCE has been a vibrant and dynamic event space in Somerville, MA since 2015. JJ Gonson and crew transformed the former Anthony’s Function Hall into a welcoming and quirky venue packed with art and ambiance. ONCE hosted a variety of events: music of all kinds, community events, nonprofit fundraisers, theater productions, weddings, and so much more. In November of 2020, the ONCE Somerville Ballroom & Lounge was forced to shut its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Gateway City Arts
"To our dear supporters and friends,
local dining, bistro, restaurants near me, restaurant, food near me, dining near me, czech restaurant, take out, cocktails, concerts near me, live music, live music near me, concerts, art gallery, theater
Lori Divine (Co-Director) and Vitek Kruta (Co-Director)
With heavy hearts, Vitek and I want to let you know that Gateway City Arts can no longer move forward as we were. We have reached the point where we just don’t have the resources and energy to try to survive. It took us 10 years to start feeling that we could make it, and then Covid took it all away. Two nights before we closed in March was such an exciting time for us as we had a FULL house. "... Read the update from Holyoke's venue owners here.

"The last six months have taken an incredible toll on all of us, and while the restaurant/bar/music venue industry as a whole has been decimated, Mom-and-Pop shops like ours, especially, have been crushed.
