"Bye, Bye, Bye, Bye, Bye"!
Say "Bye, Felicia" to the worst year ever (even with some recent years coming in for close seconds). Here's how to celebrate New Year's Eve - First Night in Boston this year, safely!

Since 1975, Boston’s First Night has been a New Year’s Eve celebration of artistic performances, the wonders of the season, and the beginning of a new year. In keeping with this fantastic Boston tradition, the First Night celebration will open 2021 with an array of performances that will be broadcast on this webpage and on NBC Boston, NECN, and Telemundo Boston.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, we are unable to gather crowds in Copley Square and the Back Bay for the traditional entertainment and attractions that bring joy to so many. We invite you to tune in to our broadcasts and ring in 2021 with the hope, unity, and optimism that we’re ready to embrace. Share your resolutions for the new year and your celebrations from home by using #Together21 in your posts. Happy New Year!

First Night By Jack Neary
It’s New Year’s Eve, 1985. Danny Fleming, mid-thirties, is about to close up his neighborhood video store for the evening when into the store pops a woman he believes he remembers from his grammar school days. What he remembers most is that this woman went away to be a nun. Why is she there? Why does he care? What does she want to rent? As the story unfolds, we find out the answers to these and many other questions. The production features the stellar performances of John Manning and Jocelyn Duford, who have brought these delightful characters to the Actors Studio Theatre in Newburyport, the Larcom Theatre in Beverly, the Hatbox Theatre in Concord, NH, the Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell, and the performance you will enjoy recorded at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in December 2019.
Don’t miss a unique chance to see an encore performance recorded with a live audience! In collaboration with The Actors Studio of Newburyport. Dec 30 & 31.
