Select locations are giving out free small pies to SNAP cardholders (one per customer, per day, for takeout only). The offer stands for as long as the government shutdown lasts.
EBO & Co. Grocery
110 Meridian St
This neighborhood store is rallying locals to donate anything from canned goods to diapers during the SNAP crisis. Owner Alexis Cervasio is turning cash donations into Market Basket hauls and loading up the sidewalk with groceries for anyone to take, judgment-free.
Neighborhood Produce
Multiple locations
Neighborhood Produce is holding big sales on pantry staples like pasta and canned goods at both its locations. You can stock up for yourself or buy extras to donate right in-store. They’re keeping “imperfect” produce moving, sharing it with the local community fridges.
Taco Azul
21 Beacon St
Every afternoon from noon to 6 p.m., folks who need a meal can grab one for free. Fresh-made quesadillas, carnitas and other favorites, all with no questions asked.
MSPCA
The MSPCA is jumping in with pop-up pantries stocked with pet supplies at key locations, including Nevins Farm (Methuen) on November 13th and MSPCA-Cape Cod (Centerville) on November 29th. Find a list of MA food pantries most likely to offer pet food here.
